Belgin Vehbi completed the MA Fashion course at the University of East London in 2011. Previously she studied at London College of Fashion and has worked in the fashion industry for many years as a pattern cutter, designer and consultant for an extensive list of clients including: Hussein Chalayan, Caroline Charles, Ben de Lisi, Clements Ribero, Preston Knight, Kabir and Tarun Tahiliani. She also teaches at many educational institutions including: London College of Fashion, University of East London, Southampton University, The national Institute of Fashion Technology India and the International Moda Academy Istanbul.

Belgin’s latest collection has evolved from the concept of absurdity versus acceptability. She explores these notions via fashion installation art pieces. These pieces are designed to make the viewer reassess that which they believe to be absurd or acceptable and challenge their pre-conceptions of beauty.

Having graduated Belgin intends to explore this concept further, potentially creating a more wearable collection; while continuing to consult and teach.
